W244AS goes Russian?

Well since the story today was about Shore Alternative signing off, I picked up 96.7 on the Zune and I'm hearing Russian Top 40, similar to Radio Positiv in NYC. However, the sound is majorly static but listenable. Is this translator sold or is Classical done on this channel?

That may be the case, because last night and tonight, W244AS is simulcasting Jamminz Radio 96.7FM out of Newark.

Grrrreeeaaatttt......after all this issue with "96.7 Party using 96.7" which led to going to Party 732, the translator decides to be off the air completely :

Well there is a reason that some translators rely on RDS as well as teh FM carrier so a pirate can;t over power it.

Grrrreeeaaatttt......after all this issue with "96.7 Party using 96.7" which led to going to Party 732, the translator decides to be off the air completely :

Fire up that 96.7 transmitter and bring Party 732 to FM!

I just checked it recently and 96.7 was on relaying WQXR like usual. I am one hill over from it and can access if it needed, just as a favor.

Is the coverage area for W244AS going to be diminished when WKLV (WCTZ) signs on from New Rochelle or when WTSX signs on from Leahman Township, PA? I remember when I lived in Hazlet, 96.7 from Stamford(then WQQQ), would only come in under DX-conditions. Not sure if moving 96.7 to New Rochelle will bring the signal further south enough to impact W244AS in Monmouth County.
