W276BQ Pelham

I just found this on the FCC database not too long ago about W276BQ (103.1), a translator licensed to Pelham. They hold a CP to move to 103.3, move the translator up to Red Mountain, and increase power. An application was filed recently to keep the station on 103.1, re-license it to Birmingham, along with the power increase. All the change is due to W275AR, a WAY-FM translator originally licensed on 102.9, which prohibited W276BQ from remaining on 103.1. The WAY-FM translator now has a CP to move to 92.3 instead, allowing W276BQ to remain on 103.1. With the increase in power for W276BQ, do any of you think the translator will be sold off to one of the AM stations, similar to the way WJLD purchased W281AB at 104.1, and WENN operating at 101.9? I would think WATV might be interested in acquiring it since 'JLD now has the 104.1 translator. Most of the other AM's are rebroadcasting on their FM counterparts, so that precludes them being interested in W276BQ. The only other ones I could see are Cox's WAGG or WAYE (which I seriously doubt could purchase the translator, anyhow). Could the two spanish stations, WZGX and WQCR use it as well?

****I just found this on radio-locator. It now shows WJOX as the station to be broadcast on W276BQ (FCC database, 6/23/10).

Why would JOX need a translator there? They have 50KW on the AM side and 100KW on the FM side.

I have found that the station listed won't always be what is really put on the air with these translators. It may wind up being another Citadel property entirely.

Since WJOX is a Citadel property, maybe the station that will eventuallly be rebroadcast is not WJOX, but WAPI? It seems more plausible that the translator might be using in conjunction with WAPI-FM, possibly being used to fill in those areas where the 100.5 signal doesn't currently cover well.
