W285DE 104.9 Bridgeport

One dear listener, who has been listening to WIHS for *YEARS*, called the station IN TEARS on Monday. She has NOT been able to hear WIHS AT ALL since the beginning of August. This is so awful! :(

WMRQ-HD3 can run separate programming from WMRQ-HD2 and 104.9 could translate the HD3

That's not an option. Part of the purchase agreement of W285DE was that WFAR would get an LMA for WMRQ-FM HD3. Additionally, the agreement states that if W285DE is ever equipped with HD Radio, the HD2 of the translator will carry WFAR.

WFAR also got 50 HD Radios out of the deal.

So WFAR could have a maximum of about 50 additional listeners with that deal.

As for the interference to WIHS, create a page like this http://thunder106.com/thunder-106-interference soliciting listener complaints. Thunder 106 in NJ forced a new 106.3 translator in NYC off the air twice, even though New York is in the fringe coverage area. It forced it off a large signal, and again off a smaller signal. They did not want that translator on the air at all.

We already have a similar report form on our WEBsite. Listeners are contacting us, and we are giving them contact information to send their complaints to the FCC.

The interference to our signal is quite severe. Our station used to be perfectly listenable in Orange and Milford. Not anymore. We have other complaints, as well. It's very frustrating to our listeners.

I will check with my boss, tomorrow. SOMETHING has to be done, as this is definitely hurting some of our listeners.

WIHS is now IN THE CLEAR!! :D

The translator has moved to 104.5 sometime in the last few days. Our signal is once again CRYSTAL CLEAR in Orange, CT, where it was once COMPLETELY covered-over! :) It should also be quite listenable in Milford, as well as parts of Stratford, Bridgeport, and Trumbull. :)
