WAAF to go jockless on weekends?

Yes... its true. All the weekend DJ's lost their airtime. No more weekend DJs for WAAF. It will now be automated.

Entercom has laid off all of its weekend airstaff in at least Austin as well. It happened several weeks ago there.

computers having an easier time finding employment. Picturing a shot of a bunch of
Dells or Macs etc with the caption Meet Our On Air Staff (...not that silly humans aren't needed to program the songs though...)

Did you hear the Beatles broke up? Old news. No weekend jocks for weeks if not months. Where have you been?

I love when people just say shit because they think they know better. Anyway, I can answer that question. "Little Birdy" has been here on earth with his/her finger on the pulse unlike you DJbobo. This just happened as of 3pm yesterday. Not weeks, not months ago. Yes, AAF has had no overnight jocks for a few years but the decision to remove ALL the weekend DJs and go automated was made yesterday. So now I ask you the same question 'bobo',... what planet have you been spending most of your time on?

I wonder if the average listener will notice the difference

First you need to define 'what is the average listener?' but more specifically WAAF's average listener ... then you can ask the question. The answer is YES, they will notice but will they care?

I'm not here to start a fight today. I don't have micro speed. I just hear what I hear and re-post if true.

Considering they have not had anyone on jocking 7 to midnight for a long time now I'm not surprised that they phased out weekenders too. That is too bad it is basically a juke box outside of man town which is almost a talk show.

Well, they have to save money somehow, what with Greg Hill's new contract extension. ::) ;D

The station has become a sad joke. It will be a matter of time before it will fall out of the top five in its demo. Then Radio 92.9 will be the only rock station in Boston.

Weekends are the new evenings and overnights (at least as far as automation and voicetracking is concerned)...
