Sott Fybush's website indicated that the owners of WUNI-TV channel 27 would be bring down their old analog antenna and lifting up by helicopter a new analog/HDTV antenna this weekend. Just taking a chance that it might happen Saturday afternoon, the only window of opportunity I had to view the operation, I drove down to Stiles Hill in Boylston, Mass. There was no activity that I could discern, but I also wanted to check out whether WAAF-FM was finally ensconsed there, and it appears that 107.3 is indeed emanating from the channel 27/29DT tower. Using my pretty good car radio, but less selective headset radio, I could discern that WAAF-HD's IBOC hash ran from 105.7 right up through 107.9. I see at fcc.gov that WAAF seems to have TWO licenses, so I don't know if on occasion they switch back to Asnebumskit, but right now, they're in the Boston exurbs.

I liked 'em better when they were a Worcester station.

Isn't Boylston only about 10 or 12 miles closer to Boston than Paxton? It still doesn't sound significantly better to me around Boston than it did before. Maybe a little cleaner in the west suburbs.
