WAAF's Mistress Carrie to Westwood One

Add Mistress Carrie to the jock line up at The Pike. She's doing afternoon drive right after another former WAAF guy Mike Wild (now known as Chuck Perks).

The Pike's playlist has become a poor man's version of Rock 92.9.
Poor Man's version?
Why? Because of their POOR signal?
Or because they serve Worcester, which is a POORER market than Boston ?
92.9's playlist certainly isnt richer.

100.1 FM seems to do fairly well with my phone's FM chip while riding along I-90 between Sturbridge to almost Hopkinton. I think 98.9 FM is the real signal challenged station in that area.

To answer inorm99:
Just look at the station's web site. It screams "sloppy" and "low budget." Horrible execution.

The Worcester radio market certainly has far fewer ad dollars up for grabs than Beantown, their signal is definitely limited with regard to overall range, and yeah, the playlist isn't terribly impressive and does remind me of Rock 92.9.

Worcester has about $11 million in revenue split between all the stations, while Boston has over $220 million; there are 10 Boston stations that, individually, bill more than the whole Worcester market combined.

I bet WXLO and WSRS are responsible for a big majority of that $11 million! There really are only five mainstream stations that target Worcester, by my count. Six if one wishes to include AM 1440 WVEI, which draws paltry ratings and has zero locally based sales staff.

Great insight, David. Thanks for sharing those figures.
