Just curious...anybody in Mobile know what WABB's morning numbers are looking like since Matt & Jay left? Also, any news on them popping up somewhere else? I really think they're two of the best and I'd love to know what's up with them. Guys, if you're out there, how about a heads up?

The "point" thing is just ridiculous. Please don't get that thread going again. Surely SOMEBODY here is in touch with Matt and/or Jay. They are WAAAY too talented to just disappear from the business. If they do then somebody has dealt a very serious blow to our industry.

Yes, we are still alive and living life. We resigned back in March and we technically have a one year non-compete, not that they could hold me to mine. Matt's is another story.
Matt will be teaching at South Alabama this fall.
I have joined the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce as the first Tourism Director for the area.
If you make it to Mobile, The Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, Baldwin County look me up.
As far as the numbers are concerned. I have not seen the dayparts but I know 12 plus 97 point 5 dropped to a 7.5. That is not what they wanted to see over on Springhill Ave.
Right now we are sitting and waiting. Someday soon one of the players here will decide to take a chance on a couple of old war horses that know the market pretty good.
I am not sure who that will be...there is so much syndication now....but when it happens...the door will be open.

yes thing switch to ac will be out of the world. Anyway, it looks like to me they can;t pick a name. They say 97-5 WABB and the next they say, 97 POINT 5 WABB. I just don't know what is up.

Wow.....Jonathan, the night guy/md who just resigned, just BLASTED WABB management on his myspace bulletin in a big way. If you have the means, you should read it. I won't repost here as to avoid any legal actions....BUT....his myspace friends can read the bulletin (hint hint). Nothing like burning bridges when you don't care anymore huh!?!

I had no clue that these guys where still in town.. Somebody has to bring them back on the radio air waves. I do agree WAY too much syndication in this market. my sister in Birmingham tell me to listen to Kidd Kraddick when he was coming to this market at Q100.7. It is terrible. So I went back to wabb and nothing against the new show but they are really really bad too.
The girl on with them is annoying and the one lead man sounds like there is something wrong with his voice. I really have not noticed anything with or without a 'point' in 97.5. Matt and Jay if you are out there, do you have a myspace to tell us where you are going to be?? Hopefully here in this same market. I always had my routine listen to you 2, then I would be at work could not listen to radio during the day, drive home was always back and forth to Lou Valentino and Jammer on the radio. NOW I JUST READ THAT JAMMER IS LEAVING????
Lou Valentino is gone as well from Q100 now too!?? I treid to call the WABB requst line and it's alwasy busy the past 3 days wihen Jammer is on. And A few posts on the NORTH FLORIDA board, and no results on to where and when Lou Valentino is coming back either. Her picture is up on the website, still no answer.And her myspace says she does afternoons still , seriously it does. This just SUCKS! I would LOVE to send a letter to WABB's management, who is the manager? I did send a letter to the kidd kraddick show and told them to 'give it up' they suck. Radiobuzz, I sent you a PM with some info regarding the letter.
WABB-FM has more heritage than any other station in the market. There is no way that they would abandon the CHR format.
Moreover, why do you think Mobile might be ripe for an 80s format? On the whole, the format has been a failure, but it has found a nice niche in certain markets, such as Jacksonville, Florida.
