Would WABC consider a 4pm newscast once Oprah leaves the air?
I ask specifically to NY, because the 4pm newscast on broadcast hasn't been embraced for whatever reason in the NY market. Maybe it's perceived as a waste of valuable time, as competing stations like WNBC, would rather use the time for the #1 market clearance.
Does ABC have plans for something else for its stations, either another ABC network show or a show from its syndicated arm?
Are there other new syndicated shows in the pipe that WABC might pick up? Or, would "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" or "Rachael Ray" likely move to 4?
It'd be interesting if WABC replaced Oprah with a unknown Judge copy cat show. i.e. replace a No. 1 show with something very unoriginal.
One of ABC's largest affiliate group (Hearst) is already planning on moving Ellen to 4pm in Boston; in Atlanta, the Cox ABC station is planning a newscast. It seems the affiliates are not awaiting to see what ABC (via it's largest station) is going to do at this point.
