WABC/7 Is Once Again Most-Watched Station In America

Thinking back to WABC in the "happy news" 70's.....

It must be pretty easy to fool all the people all the time. ;D

But really, what's the point of this thread? It will always be one of the New Yawk stations being the "most watched" simply because they have the largest potential audience. It isn't like their product is any different than virtually any other Big-3 network affiliate anywhere else in the country.

Yes WABC TV has had the most stable schedule and fewest changes over the past 30 years. They looked virtually the same weekdays from 5 AM to 8 PM back in 1989 as they did a month ago. Their high ratings though are about to become a thing of the past.

They lost Oprah, will lose Regis, also All My Children and One Life To Live are also ending so that is a chunk of programming changes that will be a shock. My opinion - EXPECT VERY LOW RATINGS by mid winter - Many Angry Soap Fans will no longer be watching. This soap cancelation was a mistake

The big news is that Katie Couric formerly of CBS News will do her own talk show this fall and it is going to drop the 4 PM newscast due to Oprah's departure. I'm not really sure if it's a rumor, I have a link to an article about replacing the 4 PM newscast where Oprah used to be.
