Rick would be proud (and probably not a bit surprised) that more than 30 years later, his station is still so revered by so many.

Julius:The Saturdday NIght Oldies show even adds to the WABC Rewound. Thanks,Kevin L. Sealy

I was listening today for a little bit around 5pm..... I went into Taco Bell and had some dinner, when i came back out they were talk again (Around 6:30) :(They should just go back to music like they were....It was a blast hearing the oldies,jingles,etc.......... 1 thing i didnt like though was how they added ECHO to the guys voice (I dont think they had echo in the 60s (I could be wrong though))

You should have listened. That was the post-Rewound discussion show.

What you're talking about is called reverb and was a *BIG* part of the sound of Musicradio 77. (It was on CBS-FM before it got Hi Jack!ed too.)

I was listening to WABC Rewound yesterday right before the thunderstorm. It was great. They played some great oldies since up in Saugerties, NY, "Cool 92.9" (WBPM) still has their oldies format on in the Hudson Valley. I hope New York City is craving to have another oldies station soon. Not on CBS-FM anymore because of the format change last year, bring the oldies format back to New York City once again. Maybe it should be on AM. WMTR still plays oldies on 1250 AM particually in New York City, so bring another oldies station on AM.

other pranks played on Jay Reynolds were much more cruel than the candles. (pranks by some ABC jocks/engineers)

I was referring to ReWound on-air comments regarding the late Jay Reynolds----a personal friend of mine.(Jay did the Wabc overnight show for about 6 years.)

I was listening at work WHILE on the air in Atlanta Monday morning! Wouldn't miss it for the world. What memories!
