WABC adds Charlie Kirk

Inside Radio is reporting that Charlie Kirk will be added to WABC's schedule from Noon to 1pm, after first erroneously saying that his show would fill the Noon to 3 pm slot.

I tried listening to Kirk for about a week and while he's impressive for his age, the show is pretty much boilerplate conservative talk. OTOH, Greg Kelly is much more relaxed, interesting and far more listenable. He has some unique views and good stories to tell. If he's willing to do 3 hours that would serve WABC well against whatever ultimately takes Limbaugh's place.

I was under the impression that Kelly is a placeholder for Curtis Sliwa until he either becomes Mayor of NYC or returns to radio - I hope it's the former. Curtis is tough to listen to but might restore some order to NYC.

In any case give Catsimatidis credit for bringing some life back to WABC.

The other bit of misinformation was that this is "the Rush timeslot." While that may have been true at one time, Rush hasn't aired on WABC in 8 years. This followed Lew Dickey's temper tantrum when Rush attacked Sandra Fluke. A low point followed by a lower point.
