WABC GOES OLDIES ON SATURDAY NIGHTS!!!

First of all, I think most of us PROFESSIONALS on
here realize how much of an idiot YOU are with your
comments.

Many of us grew up listening to clear channel stations
from ALL ACROSS THE NATION, not just our neighborhoods,
and we loved it. It was, and still is, a thrill to tune
in such greats as WLS, WBBM, KMOX, WABC, WINS, WHO, WLW,
and WSB at night. Back in the heyday, the big clear channels
out of NYC and Chicago were THE stations to listen to to
hear all the legendary boss jocks. Ever heard of Cousin Brucie?
Larry Lujack? Probably not.

We're not taking apart from service to our local community.
We're just realizing some of the glory days of the business,
back before all this consolidation BS and consultant nightmares.
It was a wonderful time, and a part of history in our
business when stations and management actually CARED for the
listener.

But you wouldn't understand that, would you? Since you're
probably what, 12?

Liar

You know what, before you go around calling me 12, I think you should understand something.

I ACTUALLY DO LISTEN TO STATIONS ALL ACROSS THE NATION!!!!!
UNLIKE YOU!!!!

If you really did listen to these stations, like you claim to, you would know the one mistake you made. You tried to make me look bad, but you messed up. Here is your flaw, Mastermind:

WLS 890 Chicago - I listen alot. Don't really love their programming, but I listen.
WBBM 780 Chicago - Listen alot. Like their sports coverage.
KMOX 1120 St. Louis - Who doesn't listen to them.
WINS 1010 NYC - Can pick up occasionally, rotating with KDKA 1020 in Pit.
WHO 1040 Des Moines - Not a fan of their programming, but, strong signal.
WLW 700 Cincinnati - "The Big One". Great programming, and I love to listen to the Reds.
WSB 750 Atlanta - David McDavid owns the Hawks, and I used to work for him.

One little problem, buddy...

IT IS IMPOSIBLE TO PICK UP WABC, EVER!!!
Got news for ya! If you would actually care about OUR market, you would see... WE HAVE A 24 HOUR 770 AM HERE!! KAAM.

GOOD TRY!
Ha, you try to make me look wrong by lying, calling yourself a "traditional DXer", all lies. I am. And it is impossible to hear WABC, unless you use Internet.

I congradulate you on your desperate efforts. But when you're wrong, you're wrong.

OKAY, Everybody...

This is very interesting.

A fellow comes and posts on the Dallas board information about a station in New York City. I, trying to keep radio-info.com set that way it is, respond to him (admitedly, in somewhat of a cocky manner). I point out that this is actually the Dallas board, and that the particular station he was giving info about was over 1500 miles away.

Then, a few people begin to get on my back. And what have I gotten? The three most posted comments I have recieved in response have been:

1) Get therapy
2) Take a chill-pill
3) You are not in radio, so you don't understand

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, has a real reason why I am wrong. NOBODY.

OH, WAIT!! There was that one guy (whose name I omit for ovbious reasons) who tried to prove me wrong. He claimed to be a "real DXer". He said he listens to stations like WSB, WBBM, WLW, WLS, KWIN, and WABC.
Good point. Except the mastermind's lie was exposed.

Now, all listen:

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LISTEN TO WABC BY DXing!!!! IMPOSSIBLE!!! YOU HAVE TO USE THE INTERNET!!!!
WE HAVE KAAM-770 ON 24 HOURS A DAY!!!

So, if any of you (cough) CLAIM to be DXers, and dare to call me 12-years-old in the process, why don't you THINK first.

So, nicely, how am I wrong??

CTL: It's not about right or wrong. Simply, abcdj posted info regarding a heritage radio station and by your own admission, you responded "in a somewhat cocky manner".

It appears your response offended some folks. If you don't care about what is going on at a station over 1500 miles away, you could have moved on to the next topic. Alot of people on this forum have an interest in the history of radio and of the legendary stations that have paved the way for all of us - those in or out of the business. I don't believe abcdj was trying to dissuade anyone from listening to Dallas radio.

As far as DXing and I admit I could be wrong about this so no need to call me a liar. I believe KAAM takes their 10,000 wattage down after sunset. Couldn't it be possible with KAAM's power down to a lower wattage on a regional signal, that WABC being a 50,000 watt clear channel signal could over-power KAAM or at least bleed over?

As far as theshadow's post, unless you and he have had a conversation outside of this forum, I do not see where he makes any mention of 'where' he is dxing from. He might not be talking about receiving WABC in Dallas. I know whenever I travel, I like to DX (and yes, sometimes I even venture north of the Mason-Dixson line into 'yankee' territory!).

So again, not about you being wrong - just understanding how most people on here show respect where it is due - to the legends before us.

Geez Louise

If I had known this thread was gonna turn into a huge pissin match I wouldn't have gone before I left the house this morning. Take a Xanax kids!

There's a slight flaw in your statement..he pointed that out. Read closely from now on.
