WABC hires Cindy Adams

Many of WABC's programs are sponsored by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Does anyone know how that arrangement works?
T2T is a non-profit, so the "ads" may be PSAs and related to a the station owner wanting to contribute to the foundation's work.

The program intros clearly say "sponsored by ... " That's why I was wondering. PSAs aren't usually considered sponsorships.

T2T may be paying for air time and WABC is donating the money back for a tax write off

or T2T is hoping whatever they spend on the time is going to generate more in donations than they spend.

Seeing they are a 501 c3 I would expect that their Board would have a good answer if they were ever called on the carpet.

Look at former POTUS45, he got slapped for using his "charitable foundation" for things the regulators determined were not mission related.

It's not unusual for charities and non-profits to buy ad time. One of the most visible is St. Jude:

They are a top buyer of ad time on TV. Some charities feel you have to spend money to make money. This is not to say they don't also offer stations PSAs. But if they buy ad time, they get to specify the placement. It doesn't run at 3AM on weekends.

how much could an hour on a Saturday afternoon on a NYC AM with a P1 of 55 to dead possibly cost?

(probably less than the cost of the transmitter electricity for the same amount of time)
