They are obviously doing this to promote the Imus show currently heard on WABC.
Hey that's GREAT! Now I know this is a stretch, but I want to hear Imus do the Saturday Night Oldies Show, even if just once. Perhaps as a fund raiser or some other special event. It would be interesting to listen to what he may come up with. It also would be an educational treat for any new DJ.
This could be a big mistake. Imus actually was good on WNBC..won't this display how he can't suck enough in his current form.

I can't wait to hear the 9am hour Monday morning with Imus.
On a similar note, Johnny Donovan has lamented the lack of Scott Muni tapes from the WABC years. They are reportedly getting a major donation of recordings the wife of a WABC engineer made years ago, but who knows if Muni is in that library. But maybe they could air a segment from WNEW if such a tape exists. When WABC switched to news/talk, WNEW devoted a show to the great Music Radio 77. By airing an hour or so of Muni on WNEW, WABC could return the favor.
