WABC website now has Real Country!!!!!

Lovely. Take the audio and the RDS data out of the receiver and feed it into an encoder.

Hopefully this is an unfinished project.

So, does anyone have an answer to why there is a tie in between WABC, and Citadel's Real Country syndicated service? Real Country used to reach this area years ago from WKBW, 1520 AM.
My guess is that since they do not have a station clearing them in NYC, Citadel is associating it with the WABC name in an effort to impress potential advertisers. The WABC Country online feed runs spots promoting shows on WABC 770 AM. I believe Real Country offers very good programming, for fans of classic country music.

Why? Is there a demand for country in NYC?

Actually there are 2 country stations in NYC however both are HD channels and both are just internet streams pipped into their HD channels and have been there for a while

106.7 WLTW HD2 is running Clear Channel's Country road HD programming if I remember

WABC has been plugging the HD2 Real country from Citadel for about 6 months or more

Bottom line: if you have to go to the website's "insider" section to get the stream, it's not going to be successful.
