WABC's excessive "storm" coverage

I just came in from the beach and put on Channel 7 to watch some Millionaire while I eat lunch.

Instead Channel 7 is yapping away about some storms in Brooklyn.

I'm 80+ miles away and don't care what's going on up there. It's been a beautiful, sunny day here.

It's appropriate coverage -- NOT excessive

A tornado may have touched down in Brooklyn . . .

Subways were crippled system-wide . . .

PATH, NJ Transit, Metro-North and the LIRR were affected too . . .

The Garden State Parkway was flooded north of the Union toll plaza . . .

A woman avoiding the storm was killed on the Staten Island Expressway . . .

And one particular viewer doesn't care? People on the Jersey Shore do care -- quite a few of them couldn't get to work in North Jersey or NYC this morning.

As for that "beautiful, sunny day"? There was a heat advisory in most of New Jersey today. In fact, all New Jersey power companies are telling people to cut back on electricity use. That's what a heat index above 100 will do.

Jerz, with respect, did you happen to read the instructions that came with the tv? Please change the channel.

It's usually the BIGGEST knob.

If you only had an antenna in Rensselaer, Indiana you'd have 3 channels to choose from. YOU are near big cities with lotsa choices.

Not tryin' to be a smartars, but come on.

Yapping away? Hello there was a TORNADO in New York City! Millions of people were delayed due to flooding. Of course WABC is going to cover it because they're there to report the news and serve the public in the metro area. They're not certainly going to care what a pompous viewer on vacation is going to think eight miles away. Besides according to NY1(we get that up here on digital upstate) said there were tornado warnings in effect for New Jersey as well this morning.

If the tornado had been a F5 and wiped out Manhattan and Wall Street would you be still inclined to post that you don't care?

Millionaire?
Wow. That's sad.

Jersey, may I suggest one of the following:
1. Locate one of the following NY/NJ/PA stations that carry "millionaire" (and since I don't know where you are, I'll go into detail):
WPVI-6/Philadelphia
WHP-21/Lancaster-Harrisburg
WNYT-13/Albany
Plus stations in Elmira, Binghamton, Washington DC and elsewhere; or:

2. Realize that game shows -- for most civilized folk -- are not as important as a tornado in Brooklyn (which, by the way, NEVER happens).

3. A new hobby -- other than setting yourself up for character assassination on the Internet.

No offense intended. This just came off as quite silly.
