WABE HD-2 & HD-3 Missing in Action

WABE is still broadcasting HD-1, but HD-2 and HD-3 disappeared two or three weeks ago. Anybody know what happened?

I called and spoke with Mike Halpen in engineering. He said that the microwave STL that carries the HD-2 and HD-3 failed. The main signal audio is protected (I am guessing with back-ups) but the HD-2 and HD-3 are not. They have ordered another STL and it is being manufactured specific to the frequency they use. It should be but up and running in the next 30 days or so.

Mike has a voice for radio. :)

Timely. Rodney Ho posted an article today about WABE and their finances. It appears they are doing a lot of the right things.
