Wachs Does New York AM Drive

Larry is an incredibly talented guy, because of that, I fear for his future in what has become an incredibly twisted, f-ed up business these past 4 years.

Actually no, he seems to like him from the rumors and he does have the money to hire a full time show host as his station is looking for a 9p-midnight host. He probably does not have the money that Wachs thinks he's entitled to. Actually he's not doing mroning drive he's filling in for the dog house which is the mid day show still on indefinate suspension. I had heard so many great things about Regular guys but Larry on his own when I heard him audition on Free Fm was just boring as they come.

Give him another try TowerBuzz. I didn’t hear his fill-in gig, but I know he’s one of the best. I hope this will be a good opportunity for him. Good luck Wachs!

That being said, I think JV & Elvis are getting screwed. Who's next?
 
I really hope he does well up there. I think he's a dynamo of creativity, but he just got tripped up by the speed of his own enthusiasm. Maybe with that experience under his belt, he can head in a better direction.

Caught the first hour of "the House of Wach's". Most listener's called up to tell him how much he sucked. Anytime you're replacing someone well liked (even if only temporary?), people won't like you.
 
That is true but Wachs is SOOOOO boring, no spark, no vibe. They tried him at night a few times and he has no energy, no vibe, all he has is the name " welcome to the house of wachs". Just because someone is on a talk station that happens to be on Fm does not make them a "hot talk" host. Wachs is NOT a hot talk host. Maybe TRg were a greatt show Ive heard nothing but great stuff about them but Wachs on his own is just flat, a bore.

I wonder how Wachs feels following O&A knowing he stole the "Wiffle Bat challenge," and the "FU line" from them. Not to mention "Pot talk." Wachs is a known hack.

If I were Wachs, I’d be extremely happy to be following O&A in market ONE... Besides, isn’t stealing bit’s a time honored radio tradition?
 
I heard the stream today and thought Wachs did a great job under the circumstances. Flying solo without a soundboard doing a temporary fill-in gig with the PC police hovering over you has got to be tough. If this is an audition, he’ll pass for sure.

Wachs is BOMBING... he did a segment on how to cook a hamburger! In NYC, the Number 1 market in the country. Guess take away Eric, Southside, Tim Andrews, Tim Frasier, and all you have is Larry - a guy who ALWAYS thought he was the reason people listened.
 
Look, I have never even heard the guy... but how can you criticize any one segment on a 4 hour show and make the claim the host is bombing? Have you attempted to create original, compelling content on a daily show? And, who is to say this topic was not interesting to a portion of the audience? Was it not relateable to the target listeners? I assume it was one of a dozen or more subjects he presented in one day? How is cooking a hamburger in NYC any less interesting than in Hoochieland, USA?

I believe today there is supposed to be a follow-up on this segment; said he's gonna have some guy on today by the name of Wimpy - it IS Tuesday, after all...
 
I think that was Larry poking fun at the current state of censorship. O and A did a similar topic Friday morning also on XM.
