A couple of the ole jocks from WACKY 102 Springfield are back doing internet radio with video!
Check out http://www.5150fm.com Saturdays. Glen "FM" Stevens and Ken "Squirt Baby Shoot" Gilbert do live shows playing the good old music they played on the "WACK" many moons ago!! Rumor has it Jim "Big Tuna" Kay will be broadcasting there soon!
Now if they could just bring back the album stash...

Radioman40,
I'll talk to Glen FM and maybe we will bring back the "Album Stash". Glen does his show out of his home in San Diego. I'm doing mine in a water locker off Rt 7 in New England, and yes, Tuna , (Still doing Television in Springfield,) is around the corner:) Should spread this to the CT Board. We owned the Hartford market as well back then.

Regards,

Ken

Just to follow up: Jim K "The Big Tuna" is on Sunday Nights 10PM to 1AM.
Glen "FM" Stevens is on Mondays 7PM to 10PM and Saturdays 10AM to 4PM eastern
Ken "Squirt Baby Shoot" Gilbert is on Saturdays 4PM to 7PM.

It's like a WACKY 102 Reunion on your computer!!

Now it'd be really cool if anyone from the old 93HFM/Giant days joined in. That was the market's last hope for a decent station. WMAS has it's ups and downs... currently they sound pretty good for the format and the saturday night show is like some fresh air after a week's worth of love songs!!

Cool airchecks off of this tribute site. Great job by Chris Tracy.

Now if only we can get The Big Tuna's last air shift before the flip to AOR downloaded as an MP3 on Northeast Airchecks or Airchexx.

If anyone out there has a surviving Wacky 102 Bumper Sticker out there,...

Bub,
I have tee-shirts, Lots of WACKY CASH, and about 100 old, May 4, 1981 Top 30 Survey's. Yeah, and an old WACKY 102 FM Name Tag. I don't know if Glen or Tuna have any Bumper Stickers.

Tee-shirts are even better! If you have a spare 2XL or XL in mint or excellent condition, I might be interested in taking it off your hands at an appropriate price plus shipping.

Bub,
Sorry. If you're looking for 2XX or XL, maybe Tuna has something. Visit him Sunday night at 10 PM at www.5150fm.com If you can't, I'll e-mail him and send him to this board.

Ken

Having lunch with the Tuna this afternoon. I'll pass along the info.
By the way If you have lunch with Tuna, is it wrong to order the salmon?!!

No problem. :) You'll never know unless you ask. :)

Radioman... you're luck you didn't get reported to the moderator after that comment ;D

Wait..It's against radio-info rules to have lunch with Jim Kaye The Big Tuna? or wrong to ask him if he has WACKY t-shirts? I read the rules. I must be missing something! Please fill me in.

Thanks!

Just caught a couple of old Wacky airchecks on Rick Kelly's Northeast Airchecks site. Good Stuff!
Keep 'em coming! And thanks to Rick for the MP3 download capability. :)

Now if we can get that very last Wacky Big Tuna Aircheck before the flip to AOR on MP3!

Salmon would probably be OK as long as you wash it down with a large glass of chocolate milk. As I recall, there was always chocolate milk at the Tuna household.

And "FLUFF"...always "Fluff" at Tuna's place....how would a Salmon and Fluff sandwich taste? And the chocolate milk must be served in a collector Star Wars glass, aquired at McDonalds (or was it Burger King?)
Captain Crunch was often on the menu as well.
I recently came accross some old Wacky T-shirts I had stashed away in storage. Unfortunately, they are all quite "worn"....what can I say....I actually wore them:) Yellow, Blue, and the fabulous BLACK version, with the peeling iron on logo. (weren't those radioactive or something?)
Can't seem to find my bumper stickers though....I had held onto a few of the "Honk if you're on Wacky" versions.
May WACKY live on forever!!!!!

Hi Kids! Yep... it's the real me! BIG TUNA JIM KAYE here...FINALLY registered! GLEN FM STEVENS, KEN GILBERT AND I all just got FIRED from 5150fm.com... (I worked part-time doing the GOLDRUSH OLDIES SHOW Sunday Mornings - WAQY fm 1984-1988, then WHMP-fm, 1988-1995... REVIVED IT JUST LAST SUMMER at 5150fm.com) and YES, Radioman! I DO enjoy Salmon... baked, especially! ha ha!!! ...and YES, Cary, I still love CHOCOLATE MILK....BUT had to give up Captain Krunch and FLUFF YEARS AGO! (TOO MUCH SUGAR) The Star Wars Glasses are stored in the kitchen cabinets, but rarely used anymore (collectible!!!) ...more... ::)

Even former WACKY 102 Engineer Ken J. joined us a couple times... GOOD TIMES! I still have some of those old HONK IF YER ON WACKY bumper stickers, as well as the YELLOW and BLACK WACKY BUMPER STICKERS and WACKY CASH! If and WHEN the GOLDRUSH OLDIES SHOW returns here on the internet, I will have to do some GIVE AWAYS of that WACKY Memorabilia for any interested fans... THANKS FOR VISITING THE WACKY 102 JOCKS page!!!! "Peace and Luv on ya" -BIG TUNA, Jim Kaye ::)
