Waco Experiences Power Outage, Bull Is To Blame

Power disappeared like a thief in the night. Waco: the format change capital of the world...
i hate how accurate this is lol stations around here cant make up their friggin minds! just like KLTD 101.7 in temple! i like to call it "the station that doesnt know what it wants to be." lol

i would like to add that for the past few mornings ive been listening, theyve been playing an hour set of music and repeating said hour set of songs in the same order two or three times in a row before playing different music, off to a great start id say (y)

also i find it kinda funny how theyre touting about how the station is where country is still country...yet they keep playing this one song that sounds like something off of a hip hop station...yeah ok waco entertainment group, whatever you say.

in all seriousness though i like the station, its not that bad and im still listening to it.

Sounds like no one knows how to properly use the scheduling software.

I have been waiting for KLTD "Juan 101.7" to filp again. It doesn't appear to have gained much traction, has poor ratings, and doesn't fit well with the other stations in the cluster.

Also, Townsquare dumped "Juan" in Lufkin not long ago and as far as I can tell, that station seemed to be doing better than KLTD.

What would Townsquare put on 101.7?

That's obviously their decision and they have their own corporate programming staff, but currently in the market they operate a country (new country) "US 105" KUSJ, urban (really more urban ac) "Kiss" KSSM , "B 106" KOOC rhythmic, and KTEM news/talk in addition to Juan. There are only two other commercial full power stations in the market which is iHeart's rock KLFX "The Fox" and urban KIIZ "Z 92.3". Yes, two of iHeart's Waco stations have good signals in the market (Country WACO and CHR KWTX-FM, which are effectively local) and there is some substantial listening to the out-of-market Austin signals, but the local offerings are slim.

It doesn't take a huge imagination to think of some formats that would likely do much better than Juan, are currently not available, and would not be destructive to those other stations in the cluster.

How about flipping it to Jamal? “You’ve heard Juan, but not Jamal…the new 101.7”
