WACQ/WVRV

WACQ AM 1130 is booming into East Montgomery really well now with the upgrade. Also discovered WVRV is on again with Contemporary Christian music. The 101.5 translators is iffy at best all around town.

They were asking sopmewhere around $250K I think when the station just had the CP but hadnt built it out.. now that theyve built it out, I guess WACQ will be asking for even more .. i just forget what what broker site it's listed on.

WACQ is not making it into Montgomery very well. It does not have the 5MV/m contour cover Montgomery County very well. The station does NOT have any Pre-Sunrise or Post Sunset authority, and the signal is limited to low power for 2 hours AFTER sunrise, and back to low power 2 hours BEFORE sunset. Calling it a Montgomery signal is wrong, it just does not get into the metro very well even on high power. Lots of co-
channel interference during the lower power operation. Current asking price is $625,000 cash.
Likewise, 97.5 does not have even the 1M/V contour reach any part of Montgomery County. The 60 watt 101.5 translator does not work very well either in most of the area. It cannot reach into most buildings.
In short, the whole operation is for Montgomery a 60 watt FM station. In fact today is was identified as "101.5 and 97.5. You just can't change the laws of engineering! Both are pipe dreams...
