WADV 5PM theme song

In the mid to late 1970s, I remember listening to WADV Friday afternoons while helping out my father at his store.

At 5PM, a new personality would come on for the evening and always start his set with the same song (either that, or perhaps it was the guy who was leaving for the day playing the same song on the way out?).

At any rate, I still have that song still running through my head. It was apparently catchy. :)

Does anyone out there remember what I'm talking about and, if so, know the title for that song?!

Was it Iove After Mimnight? There was a vocal too that started "We found love after midnight" does that fit the song in your head?

Thanks, no. It wasn't "love after midnight."

The song had no vocals, no drums. It had a base and guitar. Really good guitar, actually.

If you want to hear the melody, you can go here:
http://www.musipedia.org/js_piano.html

And enter this line in the rectangle above the play button:
f'4. ais'4. a'4 cis'2 d'4 f'4 ais'4. a'4 cis'2 d'4 f'4 ais'4 a'4 ais'4 a'2 ais'4 b'2 b'4 c''4

Then push the play button. The low 2 notes are a deep base, the higher notes are guitar.

See if that rings a bell!
:)

Oh yeah, that helps. Rules out Whole Lotta Love, Satisfaction and Let It Be. :D For those of us who need a map to find middle C, it's like algebra in Chinese.

Hi Bill,

I sampled some of Alan Broadbent's work and he's a possibility.

Only thing is, given the time period (late 70s), it would have to of been off his now impossible-to-get 1979 "Palette" album. I did find a couple bits of tracks from it, "Miz Liz" and "Summer Soft" (on a Japanese site), and it's not either of those. I'll have to keep an eye out for that album.

Thanks for the tip... someday, I'll figure this out!

:)

Wow, thanks Caroline.

If you need me to hum the tune... :)

Actually, my son had me hum into his smartphone but it couldn't figure out the song. Apparently I can't carry a tune!
