Waei, am 910

Not really. Having a hard time keeping existing 3 running, have not come up with a thought to make it work. I'd like to save 910, but I really can not do it without some help. I think I have a thought how to save it, would require acquiring it, and diplexing it with old time radio shows or something. Run it 30 days a year or so, until can be affordable to operate. Only other thought, move it to 1340 site, put same programs on both, alternate shut down periods of up to 12 months. Still, even if free, which from Blueberry will not be, I'm just not seeing what to do to make it viable. Anybody have any thoughts? I'd like to save it, but I'm not coming up with it.

Thank You for the kind words. I'm just the dummy doing WGUY as a labor of love, on top of trying to keep my 2 news talk am's going. If any of you guys want any insight, the advice is free, but it's like an ***hole, and worth about what you pay for it. The guys on air deserve a lot of credit, all 3 major dayparts have other lives. Chuck, Kent and Mike are "sounding" the part. I too, will be sad if it goes away, and just maybe, if price lowered enough. But, it's expensive to file an AM app, probably 5k between legal, engineering and filing fees. Best case, it could be diplexed on one of mine, but a diplexer for my 2 class 4's was about 18k, and still is not 100%. And then, the big question, what do we do with it? I could move the GUY calls there, but it still leaves me an AM needing a format. Sports was the no brainer, until the ticket started. Classic Country could work for audience, but you could never afford SESAC. I'm the third guy to have failed here as all news, Whoever does try is in for a tough fight.

I collect things too but collecting AM radio stations is an expensive proposition. Would you make money if you purchased the 910 station or would it put stress the three stations that you own?

I am really not sure. If 2 rebuild as 2 tower directional, could cause failure of others. Round numbers, 40 to 50k per tower with ground field. My fear is too much to bite off, and would put too much strain on others. It's not just acquisition, ongoing overhead Ascap, BMI, Electric, land, debt service. Have entertained the thought of moving 1 of existing 3 to 910, but not confident enough (yet?) to invest asking price plus moving cost.
