WAEV's Throwback Weekend

97-3 KISSFM is promoting a Throwback Weekend through tomorrow. This isn't a completely novel idea, and I was hoping that we wouldn't be restricted to endless doses of Backstreet Boys-era teen pop. Well, I'll say this. I can't tell you the last time I had so much fun listening to KISSFM. Not only is the music fantastic - everything from Christina Aguilera, TLC and Notorious B.I.G. to Third Eye Blind, Collective Soul, RHCP and Pearl Jam - the jocks sound energized and entertaining as well.

Home run for WAEV, kudos to Russ and the staff.
 
You mean Wave 97? Oh wait..... Using the WAEV calls threw me!

I'll admit I was a big WNNX fan back in the 90s. Some of the stuff had memories. But I don't see how ten year-old music is nostalgic. The baby boomers' kids might get into that sort of thing and become a driving demographic. Even then that'll have to wait another ten years.
