If it was indeed sold, I bet it was for the following reason: return on the dollar. It was no longer cost effective for them to keep -- especially a not-for-profit organization. They could sell the station and invest the money in other things the church or school needed.Mike Sheridan said:When something like this happens it makes you wonder. Is radio too expensive to operate and are there more cost effective ways like the internet to get your message out? John Corrigan who once worked at WFTL/WGLO was one of the key people that made WAFG happen back when it first went on the air. Rumor has it they started out with the old Gates FM-10B transmitter that came from the old WAXY-FM.

Really? Here in the BBN headquarters city I don't know anyone who listens to it. The station here (AM & FM) never showed much in the ratings. Maybe there is too much competition from Contemporary Christian stations. BBN is very "old school".
John Corrigan did a lot of work for WAFG on the announcing side to get things going back when the station started. He was a very nice man who I worked with at WFTL. John had a classic deep rich voice and knew how to use it.

I know we have our detractors here on this board. But again, that's how I feel.
