WAGG AM In Birmingham Is Getting A FM Translator Station

Scroll down to the 101.9 FM section and you'll see it.

P.S. Although this station may not be full powered, at least B-Ham is getting an Urban Gospel station back on the FM dial. Hope this new station will do very well and have instant success.

Kinda seems far removed from Bham to make much of an impact. There is a CP for a "new" translator on 103.3 FM with coverage comparable to W281AB (the one WJLD owns). Here's the link to the coverage area of that translator, W276BQ:

Currently, W276BQ is on 103.1 and licensed to Pelham; it rebroadcasts WUAL-FM out ouf Tuscaloosa, but will move to Red Mountain with 100 watts. That translator (or something of that nature) would be more ideal for WAGG (or for one of the other limited power AM's), such as WATV or WAYE.

Huh? You might have missed W270BW's CP, which apparently does move it to the center of Birmingham:

And so I did...I pulled up the info on the FCC website (what is licensed), and obviously I didn't scroll down to "part 2" (the CP). Thanks for clarifying that one for me. ;)

Figured you'd just missed it by mistake.

Good points about 103.3, though--they won't be simulcasting public radio for much longer. I'd root for WATV to get it ("Classic Soul V-103" has a nice ring to it 8)), but Sheridan Broadcasting probably doesn't have the dough, considering the infamous sale of their home-market Pittsburgh stations.

Maybe Citadel (who's also having corporate money woes) will find a way to snag 103.3, and simulcast WAPI 1070 in mono--if for no other reason than to laugh when a translator beats The Source in the ratings.
