WAGI moving toward Charlotte

In the FCC releases today...WAGI 105. 3 has filed to move to a site just west of York, SC and build a 1500 ft tower. This will allow the 100KW FM to city grade Charlotte. Even though 105.3 is short spaced to 104.7, both went on the air prior to 1964 when FM spacing rules were established. Therefore, they don't have to protect each other as stations which went on the air post 1964 must.

Cool. This is way overdue. I still think they should move to the WBAV sight in Gastonia. Do you have a link??

Told ya! :-D

Moving 105.7 would allow them to move WAGI into Charlotte and from talk I had with an engineer here in Georgia, grandfathering equals no spacing issues. I've heard from several excellent sources that WFMX will go Spanish. I guess it's still a rumor until Third Quarter though. What does everyone think WAGI will do? I'm guessing a Viva 105.3 would also work great in Charlotte, which has the fastest growing hispanic population in the state.<P ID="signature">______________
