WAGI/WNOW Deal In Trouble?

I hear an email has gone out to that effect, and the station could revert to the Parker family heirs in Gaffney. I'm sure they'll put it right back up on the block, if that's the case. In the meantime, get Swap and Shop ready to go again.

I'm sure that the check for $8,375,000.00 that Davidson paid at closing, already cleared.

FCC database doesn't reveal any application for, or grant of, transfer of control, so it's a safe bet the deal didn't get done. Word on the street is that deal tanked a while back. Davidson even sold off 980 in York, SC to Michael Glinter, which has in fact closed.

Understand that the FCC had approved the stock purchase of the Gaffney stations by Davidson. That transaction has not closed. The entire Davidson group less some 10 stations Peter Davidson is buying himself is being transferred to the investment bankers who backed the Davidson group. What this application does is essentially transfer the proposed purchase of Gaffney by the group owned by the investment bankers.
