I'm simply a curious guy in Texas hoping to learn about this 1 kw. daytimer.
Here's what I understand:
WAGS was paired with 1490 WJDJ in Hartsville. I presume that was a simulcast.
WJDJ 1490 in Hartsville seems to be no more. It is not found in the FCC database. Anybody know what happened to the frequency?
WAGS seems to be a live and local station playing a country/bluegrass/Americana mix of primarily independent artists. It seems to be pretty unique as far as the format goes. I presume the ground conductivity is a pretty low number meaning WAGS likely does not get out very far, especially being at 1380. Bishopville is only about 3,400 people and the county is one of the least populated in South Carolina. If I had to put forth an educated guess, I'd figure it might bill around $5,000 a month. They are the only station in town.
If you are familiar with or have heard the station in recent years, would you please share? Thank you.
