Sometime last year, CC laid off the Op's/PD guy and much of the Key West staff. I heard that the Key West Station Manager resigned in protest. Not sure if true but I do know she left shortly after, on her own. Since then, Sales,Traffic and Programming have been run out of the Upper Keys office, over 80 miles away? More than one third of the population of the Keys is in the LOWER KEYS AND KEY WEST. HELL-OH ! I also heard things have gone down hill ever since. Both on the programming side and on the revenue side. Sure, they saved some bucks in the short term but now they are paying for it! Not sure how this serves the local Key West community or even maintains the value of the stations, which are for sale. No doubt now at a reduced price. Does anyone know what happened to the Station Manager? The Op's guy? Any of the staff? In my opinion, some of them were very talented. Does anyone know what the stations might be listed for? It is kind of like putting your car for sale, after you have removed the radio, battery and tires to save a few bucks? Vox, the only other "real" operator in the Keys has grown in revenue and ratings since the changes.
I am currently employed in the market, otherwise, I tell you who I am.
