Does having the transmitter on count? Right now, and the last few times I've checked, it seems they are broadcasting dead air.

Radio Locator has been behind the times on this one. They were off the air for close to a year and then came back with a Motown format. I don't know what is going on now. It seems like they could donate it to some group and save the electricity.

I was told that a lightning strike took out the phone line a couple of weeks ago and they have filed a silent notification with the FCC. I've also spoken to them several times about turning the transmitter off and each time I do, it gets turned off, but is back on the air bright and early the next morning with dead air. I suggested that someone should throw the breaker to keep it off, but it seems that they didn't take the advice.

As a broadcaster I am greatly confused......so what if the phone line is down, why doesn't someone throw a computer in the transmitter building and run it? It would be better than being dark! And it costs next to nothing!
