Wake Up With Chelsey

WXIA has joined WAGA with 4:30 AM news. This time...it appears the morning meterologist Chelsey McNeil is hosting solo.

How long before WSB-TV and WGCL jump into 4:30 AM news (or in WGCL's case, garbage)?

Really? Wake Up With Chesley? Is Wake Up With Al that successful that they're franchising it?!

Channel 2 is really old-school, so it may take them some time to jump on the bandwagon (if they do at all). I fully expect to see WGCL in the game within a couple months. Maybe they'll call the program Tough Mornings...

You're probably seeing 4:30 AM newscasts on virtually all NBC
affiliates now, since "Early Today" now airs at 4 AM. ABC and
CBS still do their newscasts at 4:30, so don't look for WSB and
WGCL to go to 4:30 AM local news just yet.

I thought affiliates aired the network-fed morning news shows at times they chose. I thought that's how it used to be back in the day...

I thought so too. Don't the networks run news from like 3am until 7am when the Today, Early Show and Good Morning America come on?

Chesley is awesome, he entertains us and wakes us up every morning with his positve attitude and most of all his character(his movements and his stories)

WSB and WGCL are starting 4:30am newscast soon.

The wake up with Chesley is not working. The 5am-6am portion of the Today in Atlanta program has fallen off the map, ratings wise when you compare May 2010 to May 2009 and even more dramtically when compared to May of 2008. Actually 11Alive's entire May book was horrendous.
