WAKW finally modernizing schedule

I just found out that long-time Christian preaching/music 93.3 WAKW has finally opened up the music to fill the daytime programming. Now WAKW is all music 5:30am til 8pm with the preaching/brokered programming airing only at night. They still have a lot of programming to dispose of so they can add more evening and over night music but it is only a matter of time. After Salem decided not to turn 96.5 into a Christian music station I wondered if 93.3 would finally wake up to air more music. Now lets hope that the music expansion is not done.

It's a change that undoubtedly had to happen. Will any of Dayton's teaching triumveate (WFCJ, WEEC, WCDR) follow suit? Probably not.

I'm sure that the stations Gr8toldies mentioned are planning many changes. I'm on the mailing list of 2 of them. One station sent me an exhaustive 6 page survey wanting my likes, dislikes. Mentioning all kind of radio formats and music formats. I got a letter from the manager of the other, telling how many things in August will change.

To answer your comments in other threads about Point Of View. I don't see WFCJ changing POV for other callin programs. I know because we carry POV also. USA requires a non-com station to air POV to get the USA news free. Why not have an hour of right wing fix for free news and sports every hour...LOL

Who did and said what?

I doubt we'll ever see WFCJ change, but then again, I have no clue about their support revenue.

I thought WCDR was almost entirely music these days. Of course, I can only hear them on the weekends when I'm not working and visiting my family in Richmond, but it almost always seems like AC Christian music is on the 95.3 repeater station (with a bible teaching segment or two in music stopsets). Maybe I'm just catching them at all the right (or wrong, which ever way you want to look at it) times.

WCDR's got plenty of preaching, at least weekdays. During the school year there's a CCM in Cedarville (I think 98.5) which I believe is an unlicensed Part 15.
