Channel 10's digital signal (on channel 17) is directional to the southwest. There is a deep null to the northeast, partially I suppose to protect WTBS' channel 17 analog signal in Atlanta.

WALB is building a new tower in Doerun to replace the one that collapsed after that military helicopter crashed into the neighboring tower (WFXL-TV), and the demolotion backfired. I understand from what I read WALB will move their DT signal to the new tower.

Anyone know what the current status as to the new tower is?

As I understand it, The construction was finished in early July 2007.

That is correct. The analog and digital signals of WALB 10/17 and WFXL 31/12 are operational. In 2009, WALB will move its digital signal to channel 10, and WFXL's digital signal will remain on 12.
