wale getting closer to be back on the air

Lineup looks like a bunch of hosts who should be on Public access. I'm sure that Bob Venturini will be hired at some point. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Venturini
Arlene's probably trying to talk some sense into this bunch who want to revive 990. Most of the problems seem to be at the transmitter site. I've been told it needs a LOT of work. This was confirmed when Steve Conti sent me some pictures of the site. I was able to read the common point meter and doing the math, it wasn't even close to 50 kW..not even taking into account what shape the towers may be in, or what the pattern is like....

And from what I remember looking at the pattern maps back 15 yrs ago, it was a weird pattern to begin with, am I wrong Dave? Wasn't there some major drop out points for the signal (namely west side of Providence/Cranston line and in Smithfield & Lincoln?

WALE UPDATE.......VIOLET MEETS WITH GENERAL MANAGER BIG ANGE....VIOLET WILL RETURN TO TALK RADIO IN A FEW SHORT WEEKS.....ANOTHER BIG NAME WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON......WALE WILL NOT SCREEN ITS CALLERS, FREEDOM OF SPEECH WILL RETURN TO RHODE ISLAND TALK RADIO VERY SHORTLY.
Its seems we have people that enjoy the fact that WALE'S transmitter has problems. The fact of the matter is WALE'S transmitter in the current state is more than sufficient to cover the metropolitan providence area and beyond. Any minor short comings the transmitters has wont stop the thousands of staved talk radio listeners from tuning in. The transmitter will receive the needed attention. Until then Wale will be back on the air as a cutting edge alternative talk radio station and will without a doubt top off the grave of whjj and take a huge chunk out of wpro's very bored audience.

1. any underhand interference with production, work, etc., in a plant, factory, etc., as by enemy agents during wartime or by employees during a trade dispute.
2. any undermining of a cause.
3. to injure or attack by sabotage.
Destruction of property or obstruction of normal operations, as by civilians or enemy agents in time of war.
Treacherous action to defeat or hinder a cause or an endeavor; deliberate subversion.

I wish you guys luck with the new station, but I want to play Psychic for a moment. I'm feeling that the transmitter problems won't be fixed in a timely fashion and it's all going to have to do with lack of money. That's my prediction for the day. So take it as the garbage prediction that it could possibly be. It's just a hunch.

oh i defintely did pick one of the most obscure. caleri was one of the so call great talk host back at the end of the 80's when WALE had it's 1st go round as a station that was going to save talk radio in providence. and he was absolutely the worst talk master the town had ever seen. he actually stole steve white's bit , who was on in the AM on Wale then,of letting listeners call in quickly at the end of the show-i think steve called it the bitch line. the reason you never heard of him is the same reason most people arn't going to hear this new line up, the signal stinks and no one cares. the only reason i know and remember him is that i'm such a fan of bad radio and man that was the worse
