WALKING THE FLOOR - WPRO

I was listening to Ron St. Pierre the other day, and I came across a segment called Walking the Floor. They send this guy out on the street, I think the kids name is Tom or something, and he asked "Who is the Bruce Sundlun terminal named after?", and people could not answer! The bit was pretty damn funny, if not eye opening. I wanted to hear it again, and I checked on WPRO's website, and it actually has its own section.

Well, it's Rhode Island type questions, its not like Leno is going to come to Rhode Island and asking about coffee milk, and the useless nature of the "Lt. Governor" position. You gotta hear the Bruce Sundlun one.

"WHO IS THE BRUCE SUNDLUN TERMINAL NAMED AFTER...
I DON'T KNOW...
COULD IT BE BRUCE SUNDLUN...?!"

Just proves that most people walking around have a box of rocks for a brain.

Oh I'm not saying it isn't funny. I'm just trying to make a point that Radio people arn't terribly original.

true...but it's hard to be 100% original now-a-days because almost everything's already been done!

This is true. Howard Stern claims to have invented much of what he does. But even he wasn't the originator of much of it. However I can name multiple rip offs of Leno's Jaywalking. The syndicated "Street Smarts" would be one of them. Then of course this radio version where even part of the name is a ripoff of Leno's bit. Yes it's a funny idea.... but a ripoff nontheless. I'm sure Jay ripped it off from someone too. Oh Yeah... he ripped it off from Howard!

I guess I just wish there would be some new ideas put on the table. Nobody seems to think for themselves anymore. They just rip an idea off and slap a different name on it.

It's 2006, nobody's original.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBODY

Sincerely,
NIROPE
