"Walll Street at the Opening Bell" and "the Wall Street Shuffle"

Both of these infomercials are on 1190 during drive time. And neither set of guys push what the sell very hard at all.
Does anyone listen to these (other than me) ? Have the changed intp legitimate radio ? Wouldn't their money be better spent on 1160, with more of a business audience.
Or is AM just dead, and non of it matters....

Re: "Walll Street at the Opening Bell" and "the Wall Street Shuffle"

When the ticket gets stupid or is in one of their 7 minute stop sets my first punch is to either of these shows since I'm in the car. Money sense is dry and more market oriented, WSS is a lot lighter and perhaps more off topic.

I have zilch, zip, zero to invest in the market besides my 401K but at least it's something to chew on since I've always had an interest in economics, one of the few courses I aced in college long ago.

To put it another way, I can't afford or justify a subscription to the Wall Street Journal, so these shows will have to do.

I listen to these occasionally. The audio quality seems lacking tho on many of these shows on 1190 and 1160 making it a bit annoying to listen to.

Re: "Walll Street at the Opening Bell" and "the Wall Street Shuffle"

I actually listen to both of them everyday. That, or NPR. I would never give them my money, but the views they espouse on the economy are interesting.

The 'talkers' on 660,820 and 570 are too tiring.

Now, one show I can't take on 1190 is "Lifestyles Unlimited". It is amazing they make enough cash on the seminars to shovel this stuff every day.

$ ?

what would you guess these info shows are paying for an hour of time?

Re: "Walll Street at the Opening Bell" and "the Wall Street Shuffle"

Prob $50 bucks an hour on that old wore out stick (or array of sticks). I bet the power bill to run that 50kW is not a far cry from the income the station generates.

Without having heard a single minute of "Wall Street Shuffle," I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that that show's theme song is by Don Henley.

Not sure about the hourly rate on 1190 (someone ask Pugs, he can tell us) but there are other
stations that START at 200/hr for their night time signal, more for day parts.
If you want all 168hrs/wk X 4wks/mo on 1190, try 60K/mo. Offer them 50K and they might take it.
