WALLY BRINE PROJO ARTICLE

I know newspaper circulation is down but no comments on yesterday's Projo article about Wally Brine? I realize he's a valid topic considering who his dad was but I think the last time the newspaper did any kind of in depth article about anyone in Providence radio was when Paul and Al re upped at HJY unless you consider any Buddy articles which are not really radio articles per se. So is Providence a blip on the way to the cape or Boston? Guess there's no one local to write about

The author of that article didn't research her facts very well.

It mentions Wally's early career with his wife Jodi. Jodi came along much later as his 2nd (and current) wife. She actually worked at WROR for awhile (back when it was WVBF...she was still there, I believe, for the flip to country WCLB). I recall she was involved with the 1-hour (430am-530am) pre-morning show along with news guys Nick Mills ("I'm Nick Mills!") and Len Mailloux and possibly another woman whose name I can't recall. She might have been newsreader at some point as well. She works in real estate these days. The dog, Mrs Beasley, is from the current marriage.

Becky was Wally's first wife with whom he had his kids Chuckie and Wally Jr.

The article mentions how Wally moved from the afternoon shift to join Loren on the morning show. It doesn't mention that, for awhile, he held down both his slot on the morning show and also his afternoon show (2 hours, I think...4pm-6pm??) at the same time. Hard to imagine (and hard to remember at this point) Wally as a real "disc jockey" playing music on his own show. ;D
