WALLY MULLINAX

i just saw on tv where wally mullinax of wesc passed away. based on the story he really had an amazing career in radio.

I never had a chance to actually work with him; only met him, and/or ran into him droppin' or pickin' up Dubs(remember those?). In the GSP market, he was one of the Patriarchs...everyone, and I mean everyone respected him! Even though I've never actually seen a copy, he wrote a book about his years in Radio, and it was a "tell all"! The book might've had only one printing, and that, a short run. I talked with him by phone, a few years back, as he was interested in some of the old Pro Wrestling photos, that I own the copyrights to.
In Radio, much like Wrestling, we loose about three a year.
Wally had my Top Shelf of respect!
Scooter Lesley.

I had the privilege of working with Wally about five years ago at WSNW in Seneca. Wally was doing some consulting work for Art Sutton. He was truly a class act and full of lots of knowledge about the industry. I would hear from him every now and then wanting to know how I was doing and the station I was now working at. He will be greatly missed. Upstate South Carolina radio has lost a pioneer in the industry.
