Walton and Johnson to Dallas?

I really would not count on that. They've already been on the original Kiss-FM (KTKS) and weren't they on The Bone for a few months in 2007 or 08? Walton was also the local morning guy at KDNT-FM/KDDC-FM in Denton back in the very early 80s. It'd be a major coup for them to put Market #5 back on their resumes, but, as you said, which station could it be? The few music stations here that aren't voicetracked in the mornings are already running with cheap, yet established help...and even if the overpaid Jody Dean was on his way out at KLUV, for example, I doubt anyone at CBS would even entertain the thought of hiring W&J. But part of the problem is with their attitude and schtick--it seems to play better to those displaced Yankees who live in Houston and New Orleans nowadays...sort of a cut-rate Howard Stern or something. Also, W&J are aging...what is their demo now, anyway? Both have to be at or near 60 yrs old now, right?

Makes you wonder if all of these once-thriving syndie shows are all settling for barter and getting no cash or contracts whatsoever from their affiliates these days. I still think that, if your product is not worth paying for, it's probably not worth airing.

Oh God I hope not!

Couple points.

#1 W&J's flagship is KKRW Houston. A Clear Channel I Heart Radio Station. I'd be really suprised to see CBS sign a CC morning show (Then again they DID do the same thing with Kidd Kraddick in Houston.)

#2 I was just looking at the "affiliate" list. I know this is more for the Houston board, but saying KKRW is their local Port Arthur, Beaumont affiliate is quite the stretch isnt it? Kinda like say, WACO 100 saying they are anyone's DFW affiliate.

#3 Not that people dont know their schtick by now, but how do call your listeners the ten percenters (smartest 10% of people out there), when you actually expect them to believe that those three lame, awful, not funny voices Johnston does are real, legitimate people? Ive heard former guests say that they actually had to interact with the voices as if they were/are real people. ewww

The good news however is, if you hate Obama, these guys are your morning show! Not one break goes by that they dont have a comment, a shot, or just use the whole break to trash the president. I dont like Obama either, but I dont have to start my EVERY day, every moment remembering how much I hate him or any one person for that matter. How is that funny/fun?

Yup, when I was in Houston, I tried to give these guys a shot, and thats what I got out of it. Not that RMS is ANY better in AM or PM Drive. But thats another post for another thread, and at least noone is thinking of syndicating that train wreck.

That has been there on and off since the last time they got canned in dfw. Website redesign and such. Funny, its like they are daring someone to take them on because they are so much on the edge. I've gave them a listen a couple of times, pretty much the same show as Russ Martin, but better. At least they make an attempt to be funny and entertaining.

The website doesn't look like it has been updated in a while. It lists "KLTD-FM 101.7 The Eagle" under Waco/Killeen. They are still on KLTD, but KLTD canned the classic rock "the Eagle" format and flipped to sports "the Ticket" 14 months ago.

This is what is on the affiliate page (the link above) for their D/FW station:

Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
Who's Next ?

Reminds me of the The Who's album of the same name. For those who don't recall, the cover is a photo of the four lads after they have just relieved themselves on a large concrete object. Maybe that is just a little jab at the D/FW market by W&J...
