I hope so. I enjoy the show.

Anyone know what happened today? They were off the air early, they went to a break about 9:10 am and never came back.

All mentions of W & J have been removed from KIOL's website. Apparently the Mojo 950 rumor is true. At least Rod, er, Rex Tremendae won't have them to kick around for a few days.
If only their Louisiana affiliates were so lucky!rageradio said:***No hater comments please****

CW said:Their page is still on KIOL's site but the link from the main page is gone (You can Google to their page)...W&J's site says new flagship and affiliation....considering they were with Cumulus and now they are gone from Dallas, probably Houston and who knows what other stations.......but to go back to Cheap...eerr Clear Channel???????
dumber things HAVE happened, I guess...
Moving from 103.7 will take them out of the BPT market.....but W&J's site says a afffiliate there soon....hmmm surely not KLVI (Caldwell will die at the mic likely...Al LOVES the biz)....Maybe 106.1??? to replace Bob and Tom??? ANYTHING is better than THOSE guys...these are the same two CC (well that jerk Tom Schurr who was Market Mgr at the time) put on 92.5 KZPS after releasing Bo and Jim in 00/01.....yeah, THAT was a REAL smart move, CC..KZPS went in the toliet after that and never recovered!![]()

Nothing makes sense anymore? C'mon, jocks being canned for seemingly no reason - or even all the wrong reasons - is as old as radio. I heard this was a budget move.
And on that note - terrestrial radio as a business model has issues that selective (or even massive) budget cutting won't fix. First it was the 8-track, then cassettes, CD's, and now i-Pods and program "podcasting". Sat radio is taking its' slice of the money pie and listenership, in-car TV's are now available and growing in use, and it's only a matter of time before we'll all have internet-ready cars, coast to coast WiFi (ok, except for Utah and Wyoming), and an infinite supply of radio stations covering every format in every language from every corner of the globe. Once that happens, we'll melt down the sticks for scrap.
That will be a good day for radio. Imagine, all you wannabe programmers will finally get your chance on a level playing field against the suits.
May the best playlist win.
Tooner
But it will put all others out of work; sales folks, engineers, promotions, tower climbers, etc...SAD day for radio in my book

Remind me to drop KPRC from my preset. Say hello to Pruett and the Boner on KIOL.
Johnny.Sunshine said:All of you predicting success for W&J are obviously unaware of their history, dating back to when they first got together in Beaumont, TX, at the now-defunt KWIC. Their standard operating procedure is to take a poorly-rated morning slot and chase everyone else away.
I give W&J about 3 months before they move to morning dispatchers on the HPD freq.
