Monday, July 30, morning drive time: The 950 Radio Mojo.
W&J on AM will triple KSEV's audience.
W&J on AM will triple KSEV's audience.
News/Talk listeners will go to KTRH or KNTH.

Moving from 103.7 will take them out of the BPT market.....but W&J's site says a afffiliate there soon....hmmm surely not KLVI (Caldwell will die at the mic likely...Al LOVES the biz)....Maybe 106.1??? to replace Bob and Tom??? ANYTHING is better than THOSE guys...these are the same two CC (well that jerk Tom Schurr who was Market Mgr at the time) put on 92.5 KZPS after releasing Bo and Jim in 00/01.....yeah, THAT was a REAL smart move, CC..KZPS went in the toliet after that and never recovered!

Buddy, question for you. Why would you think Rod is Rex? Rod has beaten them (W&J) in any demo that matters to the people who sign his checks... handily for quite some time. Looking at the PPM data (actual numbers, not the stupid misleading cume numbers), he more than doubles their numbers in their target demo and even more so in the numbers that matter to Rod. I'm not saying it isn't him, but I don't see why he (or pretty much anyone else) would waste their time writing the long winded b.s. posts that Rex writes. Sorry Rex... but they are.
Walton & Johnson endorsed and supported the war in Iraq. Lest we forget.

When 2 guys with no ratings, refer to themselves as gods, claim they are smarter than others with their "massive brains", claim their listeners are smarter than other radio listeners and boast they are "number 1"; they deserve every excessive sentence I type.

I doubt CC would drop one of their own programs to put W&J on 106.1. Besides, B&T is more entertaining than W&J, and that's not saying much. W&J's site has the following information this morning -
Where Is The Show ?
W&J return Monday morning everywhere but the Houston flagship area. We need a week to put together the new W&J studios and to line up a bunch of radio "superstars" to round out the whole day. We start on the "new" Houston station July 30th. We will post the further details on that station here on the site. Hint...This station will allow W&J to be heard in ALL parts of the city (that will be welcome again)...and you have to "pick it up" a little differently.
As for the BPT area, I'm not sure whether or not Cumulus has dropped W&J off of KKGB, which can be heard marginally in the triangle. I don't see any other stations picking them up, since the market is controlled by CC and Cumulus, and they really don't fit with any format other than 106.1.

Stan: KKGB wasn't the only station that dropped W&J today. KLTD 101.7 in Temple/Waco was without the show as well. Looks like Cumulus has pulled the plug.

All of you predicting success for W&J are obviously unaware of their history, dating back to when they first got together in Beaumont, TX, at the now-defunt KWIC. Their standard operating procedure is to take a poorly-rated morning slot and chase everyone else away.
I give W&J about 3 months before they move to morning dispatchers on the HPD freq.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like their show and don't listen. But the fact that they are and have been on the air for many years in the same market(s) speaks for itself - unless of course you have some brilliant commentary to explain that also.
