What happened to Walton & Johnson last week? I keep hearing references to getting suspended but they haven't really told why---as far as I have heard.

If they did, what was the reason?

They suck Arrow listened to there listeners guess they pulled them to help there ratings & image

haha, wrong. They are #1 in the time slot. Try again....

Just ask anybody they suck

"They suck"

That's a very intellectual critique! haha

The W&J show is consistently #1 in every market they enter. You must have some personal problem with the show, right? It's obvious that not everyone would agree with your comment.

Ha! Not true--just a fan I guess. I never thought I would have to defend them like this. I listen but I don't agree with everything they say. Most, but not all.

;D I can take 'em or leave 'em. Same schtick, different year. Of course, same can be said for Dean & Rog, their birthday scams, dead chicks, etc.

They helped get a format change in Dallas because they sucked so bad.

I won't say they were the cause of the KLOL ship sinking, but they were certainly drilling holes.

haha, God-do any of you have true facts? The KLOL change had NOTHING to do with W&J. At the time of the switch, they were #1 in the morning!

Good God, Steve. It was a joke. KLOL was dying long before Walton & Johnson came aboard. Walton & Johnson didn't kill 101, Clear Channel killed 101. Now that we've established some facts, let's clear up another. What are your true motives? Considering your very 1st post on here was to start asking questions about their suspension, and your follow up posts have been made to criticize every other poster to this thread that has stated they weren't fans of the show or impartial, such as myself, and it really makes one believe that all joking aside you have an agenda. Looking for some listener feedback so as to gauge interest for another frequency move for the recently suspended ones? There's a reason most of the posters on this board have a negative disposition with regards to the two. Reputation. They've been all over the dial, whether it's because of their ego as some on here have stated, or constant negative talk of their various employers on the air over the years, or what have you. Whatever the case may be, something isn't right. Do they suck? No. They obviously have a following or they wouldn't have lasted nearly 30 years. Again, I can take 'em or leave 'em, but since you're seemingly looking for feedback this listener does a lot more leaving than taking. I personally listen to The Buzz or The Eagle in the morning drive for my background noise.

By stating "they were drilling holes" this implied that their show had something to do with KLOL switching. I never said that it wasn't a long time coming. But WJ had nothing to do with it. The recent "frequency moves" have been with the same company changing to stronger signals. If they didn't produce, they wouldn't be moved to a very strong station like 93.7----they would stay on a weak AM to die.

When KLOL switched, other network owners lined up to sign the show.

I have no agenda--I promise. I have no interest in the show other than that of a listener. I can say---however--if I had to listen to The Buzz or The Eagle each morning I would probably kill myself! Blah! Same ol', same ol'.....

Who wants to play You can't Win..the real version?

For those of us weaned on S&P, we will find W&J a bit dull.
On the "what's left of Houston" scene it isn't fair to say that W&J suck.
They survived the last five years of hellish penny pinching and the wholesale dehumanization of the industry.
I think we may all owe them credit for that.

I can agree to the first statement, to a degree. W&J shouldn't be compared to S&P, mostly because they are two completely different shows. S&P was more of a shock jock type show with most of the content revolving around sex. Don't get me wrong, I loved the old S&P when I was growing up.

W&J are more of a thinkers show. They discuss current topics with humor thrown in. Although, I actually enjoyed the show more then they were on 950, mostly due to the fact that the show was 100% talk. Seems like the last hour of the show is nothing but music these days.

I grew up on S&P when I was a younger man. From Jr high school until I moved away in 1996. In 1998, I heard W&J on a little AM station in Lake Charles and was hooked. They weren't your typical right wing talker, and definitely not near as serious as most conservative talk shows. When I moved back to Houston in 01, I couldn't wait to hear S&P in the mornings again. Well, you can imagine my disappointment when I heard Pruett and Grego, or Grego and Pruett, whatever the order of the name was. Sucked, doesn't even begin to describe that show. I couldn't stand to listen to it. I was elated when that abortion of a morning show was cancelled and W&J moved to KLOL. Granted, the rest of the day on 101 pretty much sucked. I listened from "Little Wing" at 5:30, until "Bye Bye Billy Ed" at 10:30. Then the CD player took over.

Oddly enough, it's the same today. Except now the CD player has been replaced by the Zune.

As far as the haters, I think there are two reasons for them. Jealousy is the obvious first choice. These guys make a ton of cash doing what a lot of people here would love to do.

Second, politics. These guys are the furthest thing from liberal, and people will bad mouth anything they don't agree with, no matter what the truth really is.

Oh please don't tell me they are not doing this phoney bit AGAIN. Then again the audience they attract will believe it everytime :)
