WAMC 90.3 off the air

A backup would cost money that could be spent on buying another station for the Chartock empire.

Why they don't have a booster in Alb which can also serve as an aux is a mystery too.

I was looking at something on WAMC's website and it says they're off the air due to a power failure on Mount Greylock. You guys in the Albany area getting anything else on 90.3 ?

Using a roof top yagi style FM antenna in Saratoga, I am picking up 90.3-WRUN, Remsen/Utica clearly. No sign though of WZBC-Boston, WRIU-Rhode Island or CKUT-Montreal. I am also receiving WRUN on my GE Superadio 1.

Doesn't 1400 in Albany serve as backup? Actually thats a full power AM atation. No need for a translator in Albany.

I was thinking the same thing. And for the area that it covers, 1400 actually has a fairly potent signal for its limited coverage area...

IIRC, there is a generator up on Greylock. It is very possible the generator failed. I am surprised they don't have a licensed backup somewhere closer to Albany, say the WRPI tower or on one of the buildings downtown due to the access difficulties that can arise getting to Greylock.

Was WCDC-DT or W38DL off the air? Did anyone notice?
