Louisville WAMZ HD 2 (WHAS 840)

I noticed this week that after the news at the top of the hour that WHAS 840 has an ID saying "WAMZ HD 2". I guess that WHAS is now also broadcasting on there. I don't have a HD radio so I can't confirm it.

I have an HD radio in my vehicle, and I can confirm that 840 WHAS is now being simulcast on 97.5 WAMZ-HD2.

I just heard Tony and Dwight on there.

I wonder what made IHeart wait so long to put WHAS on WAMZ's HD2 channel in Louisville--KFYI has been on KYOT-FM's HD2 channel for several years now in Phoenix.

WOR is on WAXQ-HD2 in NYC. KFI is on KOST-HD2 in Los Angeles. I thought that was fairly standard for iHeart and other owners, putting the big AM talk stations on an FM HD signal.

In fact, from its founding in 1966 until 1972, WAMZ's call sign had been WHAS-FM.
