WANN channel 32's digital signal is on

I did a scan for TV signals again and low power WANN channel 32 is coming in digitally with 3 sub channels. The main 32.1 airs MTV Tres and then 32.2 & 32.3 airs color bars and then it appears that 32.4 airs 2 Christian networks (Lifesat & unknown). WANN is on channel 29 and through the power of remapping they show up channel 31.1 but I thought it would not work until analog channel 30 signs off. There are also Daystar digital channel 35 and digital 47 that I believe must wait until analog 36 & 46 goes away. Plus the owners of WTBS-LP have just applied to upgrade its digital signal on channel 30 that must wait until WPBA signs off.

Digital signals can work side-by-side with no problem. WXIA-DT is Channel 10, and WXIA-TV is Channel 11. Many initial digital assignments were made one channel below or above the analog channel. We also have WUPA-DT on 43 and WHSG-DT on 44, and WGCL-DT on 19, WPCH-DT on 20, and WPBA-DT on 21 (we almost had WGTV-DT on 22, but they moved to 12 before going back to 8 ).

Daystar can start digital 35 and 47 with no interference to 36 and 46.

I've been receiving digital 47 since sometime in 2008.

I recently discovered that I'm getting the listings for WANN's channels but I'm not actually getting any signal....obviously, my antenna isn't strong enough. I'm guessing a powered antenna will improve my reception greatly?

No. An amplifier will distort the digital envelope and make things worse. You can try a bigger antenna with more gain, but stay away from amplifiers.

An amplifier is only important to counteract the signal loss in your cabling. Long lengths of coaxial cable will bleed off the signal. Also, if you split the antenna signal, you lose 6 dB. Thus, even if it introduces distortion, a preamp will improve signal considering interference, splitters, long cable runs, etc.

All I have is a cheap $35 indoor Home Depot antenna and a cheap $25 amplifier hooked up to it (no cable). I'm usually on Direct-Tv, but sometimes switch it off for just the local signals. And TV 32.......you're not missing much......1944 movies, local access channel like news.......that's about all they have.
