Want to buy good used optimods

If you have or know of anyone wanting to sell their good used AM or FM Optimod analog processors, please let me know. We're wanting to buy two or three FM ones for new FM translators and could use a 9200 AM too.

I was even looking for an old 9000a for a school station but these suckers are harder to find than hen's teeth. Of course, you can find the FM boxes on ebay with some regularity.

I'd give my first born for a 9100. This CRL crap I have inheirited is just that...crap.

I had CRL at the AM Stereo station I use to engineer and the only time it sounded good was when it wasn't processed too hard with an MOR format. I ended up using an 8000a at the studio over a composite link and demod into the final CRL box. Pulling the rest of the CRL junk out of the chain helped quite a bit.

The only CRL processing I've ever had was a stereo Amigo from about 7 years ago that I thought did a real nice job with some decent leveling in front of it. We might have an 8100 and an ST soon...it/they would probably need recalibration, but they are in good shape. I'll let you know off list, if so.

The ONLY processing this station has is a CRL peak modulation controller. And it suuuuuuuuucks. I have a client thinking about replacing his 9100. Of course, I'm trying to talk him into it so I can get the 9100! ;)
