WANTED: PRE-1980 RATINGS

Do you have any radio ratings books from prior to 1980, or know someone who does? Please reply or PM me if you have any old ARB or Hooper books, regardless of market. I'm more than happy to get scans or copies, and am even willing to pay if you're willing to part with them.

Several years ago, I contacted Arbitron for such information. I was told that the University Of Georgia has older ratings data archived. I then contacted the University and was told to send a check and the requested information. No one ever sent me back squat and the check never cleared. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

I have worked with the UGA Hargrett Library a great deal. They are sometimes slow to reply, and sometimes need a friendly reminder - especially outside of the school year, but I've always received a response and the copies I've ordered. Unfortunately, even their archives are not exhaustive. There are several books missing even from major markets like NY and LA, therefore I am trying to ensure that whatever books are still out there don't get lost to history - especially for smaller markets.

that is interesting. there was also a ratings service known as "pulse"

i printed some ratings from the 80s but they are faded and the call letters have changed several times.

I'm willing to take whatever you've got. It doesn't matter how many times the call letters have changed - that's easy enough to trace.
