WANTED: TV SHOWS & MOVIES W/O/C

To whom it may concern:

Like I said in my introduction, my institution is currently supporting me in the development of Over-The-Air.TV (OTA.TV), a non-profit streaming platform that highlights from a historical, cultural, analytical and educational perspective most of the golden age of US television. OTA.TV offers an archived collection of unedited recordings of classic television series (comedies, dramas, animation), as they were originally broadcast by the main television networks with its original commercials included (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, UPN, The WB, syndication) and collects select programming from the following decades: 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. Its concept consists of strictly presenting such programming originally aired on the aforementioned networks, hence the name of my platform.

This initiative wants to publish, safeguard, preserve and defend the aforementioned recordings in a free, legal, secure, official and permanent way, in order to make this kind of content more accessible to those who wish to study, analyze, research and even browse, and at the same time be a search resource for researchers, historians, archivists, teachers, students and those who work and those who aspire to work in the media in general. Additionally, OTA.TV wants to tackle controversial topics presented in some of the shows and commercials in a respectful, constructive and conscious way to engage discussions between the audience. In fact, I’ve developed a market feasibility research to validate the relevance of the service to future users.

Right now, I’m running a minimum viable product (MVP) for my platform, through my Instagram and Facebook pages, just to check my product’s feasibility. Also, the university gave me the recommendation to organize a virtual and personal event for teachers and students of the institution with a presentation of series and even movies, adapted to what my platform wants to carry out, this in order to obtain reactions and therefore, hope to have more followers to my pages. That’s why I’m requesting respectfully and kindly that I could obtain recordings of some network series and movies with its original commercials intact, of which could be a mix of said genres from the decades mentioned earlier. It’s a commitment and responsibility of mine to use the footage strictly for investigative purposes, and that’s why I would like to discuss further about it if so desired, in order to reach an agreement. In fact, I spoke with a digital content rights service representative who suggested me to develop the MVP, if I’m not mistaken.

If OTA.TV’s given a chance to get seriously compromised with its mission to educate and inform beyond entertaining and contribute to television’s history, development and legacy, I would be humbly grateful. I hope OTA.TV’s taken into full consideration and according to what is told to me, I’ll also take that into consideration by studying, analyzing and consulting with my sources. A list of shows and movies, as well as suggestions, comments, doubts and/or questions can be shared, by feeling free to PM me at any time at my mail mentioned at the end of this message.

Finally, I want to share my OTA.TV’s social media pages:

Facebook - facebook.com/otatv1

I appreciate the answer in advance and thanks for the time and consideration.

Regards again,
Dennis Toppenberg Martínez
