Well, nostalgia, at the risk of losing my anonymity, I will tell you that for over 20 years I have owned and operated a standalone FM in an embedded market of about 250k which is part of a larger market. There are over 60 listenable signals on the dial here coming from several markets, but no station serves this embedded market the way we do. We usually cume over half the market, and have a share in the low 20's. The secret to our success isn't rocket science. We are local and live 24/7/365 -- even overnights. Even though we program a music format, we have a substantial commitment to news -- which is far more important than the music. We are involved in our community's events. A human is always there to answer the phone. We all live in the community. These are things that weren't all that uncommon 20 years ago, but unfortunately have faded away; our industry is the worse for it. I hope that's enough to satisfy your curiosity!
