WaPo: What's Ahead For CNN?

True so far as we head to inauguration day TV viewing specifically for Cable News is down and in previous threads we mentioned that CNN's median age is 67.

However WB is currently boosting attention to Max as part of the move to protect its flagship TV app. How CNN is phased in as a sublabel within the Max App we will have to find out in 2026 to find out the next time election coverage returns.

In Comcast's case we are waiting for the spinoff to be approved and finalized given that they are sending MSNBC and CNBC to "SpinCo" while they are protecting Peacock, NBC, NBC News Now, Telemundo and NBC Regional Sports and their owned local affiliates all under the Peacock app. Yes some of this is that the median age for MSNBC is at 71 and they have to position themselves for both post spinoff and the 2026 elections the next time Cable News Channels will get attention.
